Anna is ONE today, which means I have been nursing her for ONE year! I'm so happy!!!!!!!

Thanks to all you ladies on here that provided me support in that very first, hard month. The links that you provided me showing me how to get her to latch on correctly really helped out in the first days home from the hospital. Then the advice about my plugged ducts and overactive letdown helped me through it without giving up on nursing. Thanks so much!!!!!

I more than surpassed my original goal of making it to one month! But I knew if I set small goals, we'd go longer!

I am weaning off the pump now, and once I've adjusted to that I will start weaning her. My new goal is to have her weaned by 18 months......

colic question

Hi! My daughter is 10 weeks now and we have had issues with her feeding and tummy since about 3 weeks. She was on reflux meds and I decided to stop it yesterday since she has not been vomitting for weeks. More frequently in the past few days she has been extremely fussy again during eating, before, and after. To the point that every feeding it is a fight. She is formula fed currently on similac sensitive which has been working. We have tried everything from regular to hypoallergenic and a couple different brands so I don't know that we have too many options left & this works so far. She has been on it about 3 weeks maybe. Our 3 year old son had bad tummy problems and colic. Is it possible for her to be exhibiting such severe symptoms again this late? She used to be screaming and up for hours when she was newborn. This is the only thing I can think of is that with the massive gas and bubbly tummy she is becoming more colicky again.

Went in for my 16 week appt. Nothing too exciting, I'm measuring fine--actually a little high, but she's not at all concerned at this point. HB was in the 150s. I actually lost a pound. Woot! That puts my overall gain at one pound, which I'm very happy with since I had plenty of weight to spare going into this. They did the AFP blood draw and they're also drawing blood to check for Rh antibodies. I had some bleeding around 11 weeks and both the office and I forgot about needing a RhoGam shot until we had missed the 72 hour window. So they're checking to see if I've formed any antibodies against the baby's blood. There's not much they can do if it's positive other than monitor the baby closely.

And we've got a date set for the big anatomy scan--March 31st. DD can't wait to find out what team the baby is going to be on. With one of each, we know we're going to have a disappointed sibling no matter what.

So yesterday I went to the Dr because I was feeling some pressure down south, both front and back. Turns out I have an inflamed bowel and they are going to be watching me, if it acts any more I'll be referred to a G.I. Specialist.

Baby Boy is doing okay, stubborn as ever, this time he was in a more playful mood - Now you see my face, now you don't - was what he was saying. We finally were able to get a good profile pic but the ultrasound tech wasnt fast enough to get the full face pic - oh well. He's doing fine. Even had his hand up to his cheek like he was considering something. HB was 147 and they measured him again. I go back on the 22nd and I see my OB on the 15th.

20 weeks today based on the new due date!!!!!!!
Riley is 19 month old now and she barely even talks...that's hardly! I am getting worried. She will say momma, bubba, mine, baby, and does baby babble. But when i try to get her to talk, like say "please" she will sign! When she wants "more" she will sign! I try to encourage her to speak but she just won't and so i am wondering if there is somehting wrong. I know she totally understand me because when i ask her to pick up her toys, she will, when i ask her to throw her diaper out, she will, or to get a drink or something, she will. But she just won't say a word...when you try to get her to say something she will do a little babling and then totaly shut down like she gets self-conscious or something. She does have 2 olders sisters who know what she wants, so yeah, that might not help. But my concern is there are kids at her daycare, her age, who are just babbling away and she will sit there and point or sign...........any advice??? <img...

He now wants us to try clomid days 3-7 then FSH shots days 8-11 then get HSG shot & do IUI. Has anyone had success with this? We will try our first attempt at this with my next cycle. He wants me to take prometrium this cycle to induce a period. We will probably get to start around the first of April, if AF will show (haven't had much luck with prometrium in the past). Wish us luck girls. We are only going to try this a couple of times then call it quits.

Hello all! I am not very active on the boards now but do come once in a while to read great tips on nursing.
My daughter turned 1 on February 2 (so she is 13 months now). I had originally planned to wean her at 12 months. Throughout her first year I never offered her milk in a bottle or cup (maybe my mistake) but I was producing enough milk so didn't want to buy any formula and I was tired of pumping (my now 3-year-old never latched and pumped exclusively for him for 12 months so I was so done with pumping).

Now the trouble is I have been trying to introduce her to the cup for a month but with no progress at all. She drinks milk from it like she drinks water - a sip here a sip there but not any substantial amount. I have tried all kinds of cups, nothing is working. I know weaning doesn't happen overnight but zero progress is something I was not prepared for. People tell me to force her to sit and drink it but how can you force a 13-month-old to do something...
