So we have had 2 names that we have loved for the last 2 pregnancies in case the boys were girls. Now dh tells me he thinks they are too old school and wants to change them. BTW I heart both of those names, but I do think we should both like a nmae for our child. SO here we are and we have agreed to like 3, but none of them are jumping out like my old names. We have a Michelle, Michael, and Alexsay. I know Alanna fits the best with the names of our kids, but we shorten all of our kids names and I really dont want a Lana. So here are our 3 names and let me know if it really matters to "match" this baby girl's name with the rest of the family. ANd the middle name will be Hope since Michelle's is Grace and the full pronunciation of my name is nadsezhda (russian) which translated into english, is Hope

Do you think it would be weird to have a first name and middle name that have the same meanings? I am really not into name meanings but I know some people who really are. One of our first and middle name choices happen to have the same meaning.

question about nicknames

Who do you think ultimately decides on whether or not your child will have a nickname? The parents, teachers, the child him/herself, friends of the child?

If we have a boy we will use Gabriel. I do not want the nn Gabe used, at least not now. My other ds is Samuel but we call him Sammy - everyone knows him as Sammy because of us. This year his teacher began calling him Sam so now some people call him that.It did not bother me so I let it go.

middle name for Zoe

As some of you read, DH and I were having a dilemma over the name Zoe. I used to love it - he loves it too. But then 2+ years ago his brothers inlaws used it, so I kindof feel weird about using it. DH is so set on it - it is kindof cute because he is not the type to really be into all this baby stuff. Anyway - if we go for it, which mn do you think works best? Other suggestions welcome!

We are pretty much set on our boy name having trouble with girls' names. We have decided we might use Eva as a middle name since it is a family name. Still pretty much debating the same first names.............and for those of you who have read my other polls dh and I are still debating Zoe and Chloe lol.

Dh brought it up and I was hesitant but the more I said it or thought about it the more I like it, although it's probably not my favorite but I could live w/it. Don't know if it's dh's favorite either...Chessa likes it!
I want a name w/ a good meaning and Camille means "Perfect". Imagine that!

We would NOT call her "Millie" for short, probably Cami. I think Carli and Cami go really well together.

Zoe vs. Chloe

Which do you like better? DH and I like both names but each prefer a different one. We would probably use Abigail or Alexandra as a middle name.

ETA : I prefer Chloe and DH prefers Zoe - my preference is mostly due to the fact that my bil and sil (DH's brother) have a relative (sil's brother and wife) who have a daughter name Zoe. However we see them maybe once ever 2 years if that.
