Hi Ladies!! Sorry I have been so out of touch .... I have been reading and following up on everyone, just been lazy and not posting.

So let's see ... we're having another GIRL!!! I am over the moon and so excited!

Now to vent ... I am a mess lately. I basically have run out of room so if I eat a big meal, I get a horrible pain below my right boob. Last time around I thought I had a gallstone, but it wasn't that. I was told it was heart burn but we soon discovered its a volume problem! Honestly, it's not convienent to eat 6 small meals! Now this is new ... when I do some walking, I feel a tightening/cramp at the bottom of my belly on the same side. I am sooooooo tired .... all the time! I feel sooooo guilty if I nap (which usually winds up being 2 hours) because than poor DD is doing what - watching tv! I feel so guilty. And if I do nap, I can't get to sleep at night. When I don't nap, I am tired, irritable, and even I don't want to be around me

Ultrasound update...

Just wanted to give everyone an update from the ultrasound that I had this past Friday on 5/7/10. We have some really great news...

1st - My placenta has moved up - which means that it is no longer near or close to my cervix. So, no more marginal placenta previa!

2nd - The baby bowels are no longer a "bright" color. SO, this indicates that the baby was most likely swallowing the blood that was seen on the last ultrasound 4 weeks ago... (Rather than a chromosomal problem).

3rd - No new blood was seen in my uterus/placenta on this ultrasound.

BAD NEWS: My placenta is not a healthy looking placenta. It has been through some trauma according to the dr's... The dr. even mentioned that there was a blood clot on the placenta. So, they are following me more closely and making sure that the baby continues to grow. Right now, the baby is measuring ahead of schedule (which is great),...

Hi Ladies,

How is everyone doing? I am fighting the cold/flu right now but otherwise things are good.

I am planning my family shower, we are having it May 29th from 7 pm -12 midnight. For us Jamaicans and other Caribbean people, baby showers and 1st birthdays are really for the adults not the kiddos :-)

So it will be a full out party, right now we have about 70 people coming. I am having it catered because I don't want to have to deal with the coordination of the cooking of food and such. We're also having a DJ, should be fun.

I just have to get the invites out this week and we'll be good to go.

I have two other showers (one at church and one at work).

Discharge? (TMI ahead)

So I have been having some extra discharge. But it isn't normal. It is almost like I have peed a little. It is watery and just not normal. Happens out of the blue a couple of times a day. Of course my mind starts thinking things like....did my water break and it is coming out here and there(which would not be cool). Or is this normal?

Well I am not really that surprised. My Dr wants me to be at 140 or less and I was at 163. Looking online though I am not doing that bad because to be diagnosed with Gestational Diabetes with the 1-hr I would have had to be greater than 180 so I have to go back and do the 3-hr, I just have to eat properly. I guess eating the McDonalds Cinnamon Melts the night before was the wrong thing to do

How's everyone else doing?

Ultrasound update...

Had an ultrasound this past Friday, the 16th...From the ultrasound, it shows that I have an area of blood from the placenta that is getting bigger than the last ultrasound 3 weeks ago.

It appears that the baby "could" be swallowing the blood with the amniotic fluid as his bowels are showing up brighter on the ultrasound than they should. It is called "echogenic bowels". The last 3 ultrasounds did not show this brighter color. There are many reasons why this could happen: from human error, to the baby drinking the blood, to bowel/intestine issues, to other chromosomal problems like Downs Syndrome or Trisomy 13/18, etc...

All of my Downs Syndrome and Trisomy 13/18 testing have been normal, but of course, there are no guarantees. Also, none of the ultrasounds have shown any markers for any of these defects.

I really hope and pray it is nothing serious but it still worries me. I am still...

Had a regular appointment today, the doctor said it looks(she wasnt sure) like my placenta is still covering my cervix and it doesnt correct itself and that I may have some condition caused by previous c section scarring and if thats the case, they might have to take my uterus out at delivery... but before that I will have to be on bedrest in the hosptial for a couple of months and that I should make arrangements now for a sitter. I mean she's just jumping ahead with only negative stuff.

I told her that I had previa before and it corrected itself so why is she saying, it doesnt. She said if the placenta is covering it completely then no, it doesnt move but if its covering it a little, it can move.

Whats making me so upset is that she said her machine wasnt that good but the Maternal Fetal Ultrasounds are so they will be able to her if its covering. SO why not tell me all of this b.s at that time. You dont even know its its complete. When I went to...

This is what happened to me today. This was me telling a good friend of mine about it via IM. I am so disappointed, hurt, angry, just everything wrapped up in one. Hey everyone... Okay... during this whole process of having a marginal placenta previa, I remember the dr. saying that my placenta was anterior (in the front). I have gone back to my pregnancy journal with my dd and I was feeling lots of movement around 18 weeks (more than the bubble feeling). With this pregnancy, I started feeling the bubbles around 17 weeks - like 2-3 times a day, then around 18 1/2 weeks, I didn't notice the bubble feeling anymore. Maybe 2-3 times a week. Now, this week, I have started feeling very slight movement ONLY in the top part of my uterus and only 1 time during the day recently. BUT, I really thought by now, that I would be feeling a lot like I did with my daughter. Needless to say, this does cause me some anxiety...

I have a doppler, and the heartbeats are in the 150 range. The nurse said that this was normal, but I just wish it was different...

Anybody have any experiences like this?

Hi Folks,

Had my OB appt today with the midwife there and baby's heartbeat was 144. I have moderate blood in my urine so they'll be watching me for that. I think I have been having a few contractions but I am not quite sure. Let's just say I end up using the bathroom afterward so I really can't complain.

My next specialist appt is on Monday and my next OB appt is at 28 weeks which is May 10th.

So I've gained 33 lbs so far (shh don't tell anyone) and today they measured my tummy with the measuring tape for the first time and my tummy is measuring right on track at 24 weeks so I guess that's good. I am such a fatty.

My Best friend and mom had a surprise baby shower for me today!!!! I was SO SURPRISED!! It was really nice and I got lots of cute stuff for the baby. I got onesies, bibs, diaper bag filled with bath stuff and other things, diapers, wipes, new boppy, co-sleeper that I really wanted, baby carrier, baby toys, a baby thing that goesin the car seat that makes the baby fit better, and some other things. ONe of my friends even got Alexis a new booster seat. It was a great day!
