Not sure how many of you are still around (if any!)

Five years ago today, Laci was diagnosed with neuroblastoma. Today we are five years out, today she is officially "cured." When I think about where we were five years ago....and I look at her today....it's INCREDIBLE. I never EVER thought she would be a typically-developing kindergartener. I didn't even think she'd make it to her first birthday. Such a miracle my girl is! This board (well, AMJ Mommies back then) was so incredibly supportive to me....I so looked froward to coming to post when we were staying in the hospital, it was the only normalcy I had while living on a children's cancer ward. All of your posts meant so much. I wish I could still read them, but the archives don't seem to go back that far. So anyway, if any of you are still out there, THANK YOU!!!!!!

What are you/did you get your LO this Christmas!? The 3 things Maddie asked Santa for were a diary that locks, a container for her makeup and a camera! We
got all three things plus a baby that crawls that she always looks at when we go to Target, a leapster game, an ipod doc for her room, some easy reader books
and baby alive accessories. There are some other random small things but, those are the main ones.

a mixture of E's and P's but the teacher said that most of the kids had E's in the same areas as Alexis. She said that is normal as they all
just started school. When I first saw all of the E's I was worried. I am so glad that she explained that they are all at that spot. She did have
P's in such things as manners, working well with others, respecting other students, and all of those social skills. The teacher also mentioned that
Alexis was ahead of most kids in knowing and recognizing her whole alphabet and their sounds. She is also at the top of her class for knowing her numbers!
She also noticed that I must read a lot to Alexis because she is very good at handling a book and following along to "read" the story. We do have
    to work on her...

Maci is one of the younger 2004-2004 tots on the board turning 3 the November 27th.

Maci has (a lot of) moments where we just don't know what to do with her. A tantrum can easily last 45 minutes. Today she made DH so mad he would have
nothing to do with her for nearly 2 hours. Tantrums like this is common. I no longer know what to do. We have tried everything! Most recently I have
started watching my nephew 3 days a week. She is having some jealousy issues. He is 4 months old and she has started acting like a baby. She wants to be fed
and when she 'cries' she says Waaaa.

She is extremely strong willed!!!! She hits, kicks and screams when throwing a tantrum. We have had to leave places when she throws a tantrum.

Has anyone else have to deal with this? HOW do you deal with it?

Calling Mom's of 4 year olds....I need some input into if this is normal behavior or related to a new baby in the house. My almost 4 year has developed an
unbelievable attitude, sometimes he's just down right disrespectful. One example (this is mild but just happened so fresh in my mind): we were playing and
Owen did something, I responded by tell him that wasn't nice and it hurt my feelings. He looked me in the eyes and said well I don't care AND I'm
not aploigizing either! then stomped off. I really just sat there dumbfounded. Are you kidding me he's 4 NOT 14!

Sharing Room Advice

Hi there!

I'm expecting baby #3 in June, so I'm moving my two girls (ages 4 and 2) into the same room in the next week or so. I'm nervous b/c they have had
their own rooms for the last 2 and 4 years. Will they stay up all night giggling (like the tent camping experience this summer)? Will they wake each other up
every time they sneeze or have a nightmare? Will they get less sleep than they need b/c of the new arrangement? Will my 2 year old even stay in a big girl
bed after the crib? Will my 4 year old really like the top bunk like she thinks?

Anyway, if anyone has advice on how to make the transition easier, I would love to hear it. Especially if you have advice on things we can do and be prepared
for (how to handle them going to sleep in the same room for the first few times - with giggling and staying up, or whatever).

Thanks!

I'm so so sorry but I realised I haven't updated my 2004 friends in a long time. I hope everyone is well. I now have 3 kids, 3 girls in fact! 2004,
2006 and 2008. And as you can imagine, life is pretty busy. This is it for us. My body (and mind) couldn't go through another pregnancy. Always wondered
whether you know when to stop? Well, if you are wondering, you still want another because you know when you want to stop! It is a great feeling though, having
3 healthy kids. I love the chaos (my DH is still wondering what hit him!)..... And the girls, they love eachother. Sophie and Charlotte are best friends. And
they can really make Juliette laugh better than anyone else. My dh is happy he doesn't have to play football and can practice his hobby, cooking with the
girls all the time. He only has sisters so I think he doesn't know better..... And I, well, there is little me time but I'm sure that will come again.

I'm looking forward to hear from...
