My daughter has been struggling with bm's as well. She cries when she tries to go and they come out hard. She's 8 weeks old as well. I've been using pear juice diluted with water (1/2 oz water and 1/2 oz pear juice) and have had some success with it. They've been looser and she doesn't strain as much. Hope that helps!

I thought I replied to this ... oops! Anyway, I've heard the things you can do for colic can help - holding her on her tummy, rubbing her tummy, etc. but haven't tried to myself. Did your doctor tell you why you can't use gas drops? Eva is on the same thing (generic Zantac, right?) and we use Mylicon, her doctor knows and never said it was an issue ... I looked online before I did, too, and the only thing I found was not to give it at the same time or the Zantac might not work.

help! ideas?

My dd is currently on similac sensitive and this has been the best so far for her except in one area. She struggles and fusses so hard when she's trying to pass gas sometimes and when she needs to have a bm. She didn't go at all yesterday and tried this morning fussing through two bottles and still couldn't go. I don't know what to I can do! It kills me to hear her crying like that! She's 8 wks old & on ranitidine for reflux so can't do gas drops dr said.
