How are you doing so far this cycle? I am finally post-ovulation I think. Probably 1dpo, waiting for FF to confirm (even though it detected an ovulation days ago, I knew it was not true). Took 22 days this time to finally ovulate. Could be worse, but could be better. It drove me absolutely insane!! Some days, I just want to call it quits because TTC consumes me so much. Oldtimer Posts: 1917 11/08/2010 10:01 AM	Yay for ovulating emilie! I ovulate normally anywhere from cycle day 18-20 so I know it can suck waiting for ovulation! TTC drains me too! Hopefully this is your last cycle! I am heading in for my HSG today. It is early afternoon. I am a bit nervous and anxious but I will be glad to have it done. Dh does his test this Friday so at the end of the week, we should have enough info to meet with the ob for a plan of action!

Oldtimer Posts: 6317 11/10/2010 10:50 AM	Great news squeakers!!! Hopefully by the end of the week, you'll be in place to put together your plan of action. That's got to feel good. Emilie - sorry for your frustration. I can't imagine waiting so long to ovulate. That's got to be such a pain! I am 7dpo, but not holding my breath. This month our schedules were wacky, so we tried, but our timing wasn't so great. I fully expect AF to show next week. And on the next cycle we'll actually be travelling and staying with family. I do not see how we will be able to even try so next month will be a wash too. Maybe December??? Ugh. I'm going to be 38 next week and I'm wondering if I should consult with my doctor or just try for a few more months. I KNOW I'm ovulating, but I don't know about DH's boys. What if there aren't that many of them? What if they are DOA? I've gotten pregnant 6 times - so this shouldn't be a problem, right? It took me 11 cycles to get pregnant with #3. I'm about to start cycle #6, so I don't know if I should just chill and keep trying or get my doctor involved at this point.

We do put more pressure on ourselves when we get older too. My ob said that at age 34 and up she tells people to try for 6 months and then call her. I wish we had called sooner but I don't this dh was ready for that and I just didn't believe that there was anything wrong. If you feel like calling your doc, do it. Maybe just some encouragement will be helpful. If you aren't ready for that, then just try a few more cycles. I wish it wasn't so hard.

Oldtimer Posts: 2515 11/11/2010 9:59 AM Member	I am 4dpo today. FF confirmed my ovulation for Sunday as I suspected. However, my temp is really not rising as it should. There was a rise on that first day, and then flat temps for 2 more days. This morning, a small rise again, but really nothing major. Usually at this stage, I am already higher than this, so I can't help but think this cycle has got to be a bust no matter what, because I don't see how I could be pregnant with such a slow temperature increase. 3 years ago, when we were trying for Elodie, my OB had said that a slow temp increase was indication of a poor ovulation. I can't help but have that in mind now. Stef, I hope you're wrong about this cycle, and that you will be able to squeeze in a couple BD sessions in there next month of this one doesn't work out. I can imagine the stress since you are 38. Feeling like the clock is ticking and time is working against you. I am only 30, but I really want a smaller age difference between my kids this time. I do not see myself starting over in a couple of years, so I am giving TTC a few more months and calling it quits if nothing happens. <a href="http://bellybelly.com.au/"><img src="http://bellybelly.com.au/t/mXi3IzGmuR.gif" border="0" /></a>

Just today I'm thinking I might call my OB, but then I think - do I really want the hassle of the blood tests and crap? No! But do I want the baby? Yes. Dang it, this is a pain in the butt!

Oldtimer Posts: 791 11/12/2010 10:02 AM Member	We went back to RE last Thursday (11/4) to discuss our plan of action. We had already decided before we went in that we were done with the injections & IUI's. My RE was wonderful & completely understood. She wants us to give it another try on our own. She increased my dose of Clomid to 150mg for 5 days. She wants me to do OPK's & temp to pinpoint O. Today is CD 10. I usually don't O until day 25-30 when I just do Clomid. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that we will be able to do it on our own. Good luck to everyone. Me 36 DH 34 DD 10 DS 4 ~Stacie~

Oldtimer Posts: 2101 11/13/2010 1:08 PM	Hi all, emilie: that's great for a good temp jump. :-) hope this is your month stef: after trying for 4 yrs i know how stressful it can be with charting and all that stuff. i think i am pretty relaxed about it this time because it's like oh well if it happens it happens. but i know if i was to chart and stuff i would drive myself nuts. lol. but i am also going to do what i did when i got pregnant with dakota and see if it will speed up the ttc process. after i started doing it i got my BFP within 4 months. :-) tinkerbell good luck hope you catch that eggie :-) daisy: good luck this cycle for me i have about 7-8 days before AF is here not going to stress over it either lol now watch since i think af is going to be here she won't show because i O'ed later then what i thought. Windy - Ok - so I have to ask - what is it exactly that you do to get your BFP? You said you got it within 4 months of trying with Dakota, do you have a special trick you can tell us about? Whatever it is, I hope it works for you when you are ready. Squeakers - did your DH get his SA yesterday? Hope it all went well. Waiting to hear what is next for you. DH & I talked about everything last night. I explained the dilemma to him about waiting vs. not waiting to go to the doctor for additional "help" if we can't get it on our own. He is cool with whichever route I want to take. He just wants a baby and he wants to be supportive. I love him. I had a good long talk with God this morning and I feel good about giving it a few more cycles before I decide to go to the doctor. So, I'm going to chill and just see if we can't get this thing to happen on its own.

Oldtimer Posts: 2101 11/13/2010 6:53 PM	Remove this ad Stef: I have PCOS so by my doctor he put me on metformin so i took 1500 mg of that. then i seen a group that was taking soy isoflavones because it acts like clomid without the side effects. so i started taking this, first month i took 40mgs nothing happened that month so i upped the dosage to 80 mgs the next month BFN anyway i kept upping the dosage each month until the 4th month i took 160 mg along with meftformin 1500mg and the clear blue fertility monitor and temping i got my BFP. oh and i was taking a prenatal vitamin everyday too. so this time i just want to do all that except temping. i think temping is just way to stressful.
