Do you use insurance (certified mail?) when shipping, or do you let the buyer decide if they want it? I'm still new to this and of course I sent a pkg 1.5 wks ago and I just got email that they haven't received it. I mailed it regular mail, not priority. It was supposed to take 6 days and so we're going on 12 days now.

I always offer it so that if they decline to pay for it then it is their decision. DH does delivery confirmation on sales over $50 but I only do it at the buyer's request. -Jana

I do not offer it, but will insure it if they ask. I use the shipping service through paypal. When you go to "my account" in paypal and you see the payment has been rec'd, next to their name will be a button that says "ship" and click on it, it will print the shipping label and take the cost out of your paypal acct. Once that is finished you have the option to have he package picked up from your home.
Anyways, with using this, you get free delivery confirmation. I think it might only be with priority mail, but sometimes there is a very small difference in cost between Priority and Parcel Post.  Kaitlin 5/28/98 7lbs 2 oz * Preston 9/20/01 9lbs 12.5oz * Parker 7/29 9lbs 15oz |

I sold coupons on there once last year but mailed them regular mail not thinking. The person claimed to never have gotten them and of course we didn't have proof that we mailed them. UGH!!! I learned my lesson on that one!!!

 I send everything with confirmation. I just add the cost into the shipping and state in my auctions that it is included. Now insurance is at the buyers discretion. I offer it, but won't add unless they opt for it and I don't pay for it.Sending it with delivery confirmation is just an added layer of protection for you.         I've almost reached my 3rd Goal! |
