Just some preliminary thoughts...DH has not agreed to all of these names.... in fact he already said no to one of them.
We want to use a first name that begins with S and a middle initial with E.

I like Simone. I am partial to not using an -a with a second -a. For instance, my DD is Gabrielle Catalina not Gabriella Catalina.

Another name that is similar IMO is Sabine. (sa-bean) Latin origin, not too common.

with both names ending in -a, they just don't seem to flow just right. I love the name samantha though....and ella is pretty. but just not together.

I too like the name Ella...Some other thoughts are Eileen or Elysia. Names that start with an S...I really love the names Shantelle, Seline, Sienna and Silvia. Hope that helps!

I like all of the first names that you have chosen. A friend of ours has a dd named Sophia and as a child I decided to change my name temporarily to Samantha. I'm not really fond of any of the combinations with Ella. Ella is a really cute name and my cousin named his dd Ella but it doesn't seem to flow with the names. What about Elyse for a middle name.

I like the third choice (Simone Ella), but I like it the reverse way... although you're using S first then E.

I agree with the "a" and "a". It's a little hard to say. Maybe use Sophie Ella or pick a different middle name. I love all the names, just not together. What about Elise, Elizabeth, or Emily for a middle name?

What about using Elizabeth as your E name instead of Ella? I think it drops off funny..

I understand the letter thing. In my case it was trying to avoid over used letters in the two families.

I would pick Simone from all the choices there. Ella is a hard name to find a first for as it tends to end a lot of girls names. Other then that for s and e names .. how about Sidney and Eliza though I am not sure if they flow well enough to go with your last name or any of your other choices.

I like Simone-very classy and classic.

Sofia/Sophia is a lovely name but is soooooo popular these days. I'd personally shy away from it for that reason.

Samantha is okay but NMS...
