Eva has been fascinated with bras since I can remember. She has always tried to steal mine and put it on. At 2 years old she was playing and asked me,
"Mom, have you seen my bra? I think I left it in the garage." She's just a hoot. Well, now she's practically obsessing over it. Her little
best friend who is one year younger has a bra! It's a little jog-bra that her mother bought at Walmart and Eva got to wear one of the bras when she went to
the girl's house to play. Now she won't leave me alone about the bra. I told her she's too young for a bra and that when she gets boobs in about 10
years then we will buy her a bra. She wasn't happy about that, but she left it alone. Now today I find her flipping through the lingerie section of the JC
Penney catalog! She tells me she just can't figure out which one to pick. So, again, I explain that we will get her one when her chest starts to grow, that
bras are to help you stay modest when you have breasts and that she doesn't have breasts so she's already modest and doesn't need a bra. That
wasn't good enough - she wanted to pick one out. So, in exasperation I say, "Fine. pick a white one or a blue one" She says, "No! I want the
polka-dot one or the Cheetah Girl (leopard print) one!"
Then she saw the bra that looks like skin and you stick the two cups to your boobs with
sticky tape - the one where the girl looks naked with no nips! She was like, "WHAT IS THAT????" So, I made her throw the catalog in the garbage.
Boobs are no big deal and neither is a bra, but how in the world do I get this child to stop obsessing about a bra. She has actually sneaked and put on my bra
and worn it with her jeans and told me, "I look like a woman!"
