I let Austin go with her girlfriend now (will be 13 in March)........its a very small theater in our small town and so I feel pretty comfortable........I pick
them up right after so that there is no lingering.........and she takes her cell phone in case of emergency.........I have no problem with that

We haven't done that yet. I am thinking some point during this year she might be able to. She's 14.

My daughter is nearly 11 and she goes on her own. We live in a tiny country at the bottom of Spain, and it's totally normal for children to be out on their
own.

Timothy's 10 now. He hasn't asked for this, but I would say he's pretty close to ready and if he asks next year, I'll probably let him. I trust
him not to be a menace, and our town is pretty small and tame.
He was 8 before I let him use the men's room when I was with him, vs. making him close his eyes and come into the ladies' room with me ![]() ![]()

Same as Lynne, Sam started going with friends when she was about 13.

I think that it depends on the maturity of the child/teen... I could easily see myself letting Delainey go to the movies w/ a friend on her own when she was 11
or 12... but we live in a smaller city, and I would be there to drop them off and pick them up etc.

I remember my mom dropping my friend and I off at the mall or the movies probably when we were about 12 or so. We had it set up so one of our moms would drop
us off & the other would pick us up.

For me it would be dependent on recent behavior, the friend she is meeting, and the time of day. Otherwise, I believe 12/13 is okay.

I thing that 12 or 13 is a good age. In Canada you are aloud to babysit at age 12, so I think that it would be a little unfair not to allow them to go to a
movie alone. But i am sure that I would want to drop them off and pick them up. As for going to a movie with the opposite sex. I would say that 14 or 15. But I
would prefer a group setting. Alone closer to 15, 16.
