My oldest eats like a horse.........I mean seriously she eats 3 times more than I do.........she eats as much as a man! If I dont watch her closely she will
eat all day long! She isnt fat but she has put on 15-20 pounds in the last year or so and I dont want her to get overweight because it isnt healthy and I dont
want kids to make fun of her..............
what are your kids habits????

reisha is on the plump side, she doesnt eat much though. just a slow metabolism im guessing because she's super active.. she plays volleyball and
basketball all year around.
sometimes kids eat because they are stressed. if your worried, workout with her. let her know you want her to be healthy and never say because she's overweight.. even though u may not mean it like that she will take it that way.. my dd wants to lose her thighs and her big butt but i dont know how.. she doesnt eat a lot and she works out 5 days a week so i dont know what else to do. i just tell her she's beautiful and i love her thighs |

My DD is about 100-105 lbs, size 0-3. She eats pretty much whatever she wants, but she's a smart eater. She's the one, when eating out, will choose
fresh fruit as her side instead of fries.

My almost 11 year old is on the big side. Her posture is very bad and that's not helping as it looks like she has a big belly when she doesn't.

My oldest has a bit of a belly, he eats a lot of carbs - huge plates of spaghetti and such. But really it's just a bit of a belly, not too bad. He's
100lbs and close to 5ft tall. I think that's pretty average for a boy. He needs to be more active is all, so we signed him up for basketball.
My 2nd son is enormous. He's off the charts for weight (95lbs at age 8) but in the 90th percentile for height, so he's just big all around. But he does also have a gut and is a carb addict. He's autistic and doesn't listen to his body so tends to eat like a puppy - until the food is gone! Plus he's picky and forcing him to eat his veggies just isn't a battle I choose. ![]() ![]()

Ahh puberty! My 15 year old has just started watching a little bit better. Instead of a huge cup of goldfish, she'll eat a bag of ff microwave popcorn. So,
we're on the right track. If she would exercise even a little, I think she'd look awesome. We even have a darn treadmill w/a tv on it! Not that she
doesn't live for the ipod anyway....

Austin plays soccer and has horses but when soccer season is over she plays with the horses and cleans stalls and feeds and walks them too..........she isnt
super active I guess but she eats way too much portion-wise..........
I try to help her make healthy choices and she eats every meal at home (except school lunch M-F) because I cook.....I hardly ever let her eat fast food (maybe once a month or once every 2 months at the most)......... She isnt fat but is a little bit heavy around the middle........her legs and face and arms are all normal size.........I just dont want to act like it isnt important because food is just as bad for you as drugs if you eat the wrong things!! It causes heart disease, diabetes, stroke, etc. and to me it is so important to make sure they develop healthy habits.........I think Im a little too over the top with making her watch her choices so Im going to try and chill a little bit.............but I agree that healthy choices and exercise are the key to getting it right........... Thanks!!!

Sam is 5'7" and weighs about 130 pounds. I think she really looks good. She's pretty active...she's not in any sports but she's in PE.
It's so incredibly hard to talk to girls about healthy eating because they automatically take it as talking about weight. I went through that with my
oldest daughter. She's now 19 and only finally realizing portions, healthy eating, etc...even though I spent all of her teenage years talking to her about
it.

It really helps to realize that they arent going to listen now............I keep expecting her to listen and do it........then I realize that she is a teenager
and that means anything that comes out of my mouth she isnt going to listen to

Hey Reece,
Usually if they see how we eat and exercise, they'll sure be to follow! Kayla is obsessed with her weight because she's a flyer in cheer. I never allowed her to drink soda and so she drinks water by the gallon which I think helps sooo much. She eats some junk, but with the Irish dance, cheer, horseback & tumbling, she can afford it! |

My son is still pretty small. He is about 4'10" and about 85 pounds I guess. He does not eat a lot of junk, but he loves carbs.
