Tags : None Remove this ad My husband is a great dad, he doesn't have many friends because most of his co-workers are old and he doesn't play hockey in our small town so he doesn't know a lot of people here, and he has no dangerous habits. All around, he is great and the only thing I get really upset about is the amount of time he spends on the computer. It's not like he's looking at porn, he's into poker (not for money) and sci-fi games. It's a pretty harmless habit but some days he's on there for hours and doesn't even seem to notice us. I'm always nagging him to leavit it alone and it drives him nuts. Should I just accept that this is one of his only forms of entertainment and leave him alone, even if it's for hours at a time, or am I o.k. to keep being a nag. lol Jordanne Kailey-Feb.14, 2004 -I'm 7!!! Also, make a date night for you and DH, even it is after the kids go to bed and it's you guys sitting on the couch watching a movie. If he understands that his time is valuable to you, maybe he will be more understanding. If he sticks to the family time schedule, I would overlook the time he spends on the computer...for now.

It sounds like he's a computer junky and he needs to learn how to share his time with u guys... I wanted to come back and say that and give u a big ((HUG))

Remove this ad I agree that if something really bothers you and you are being neglected that you shouldnt just let it go. Not that you should try and control him but I agree setting times for "family time" is a great idea. And, do you get to do things you want to do too? Do you get to spend hours doing a hobby with no regard for him or the kids? Im not a good person to ask this question to right now because I have a chip on my shoulder about this

Oldtimer Posts: 2148 11/19/2008 12:58 PM	We discuss the gaming here too. Only we don't schedule certain days for family time, we do it the other way 'round.. we schedule certain days for gaming. Right now he's got Wednesdays.. he comes home, plays with the boys for a few while I make supper, and then he gets to take his food up and veg into his WoW for 3-4 hours until teeth brushing time for the boys, which he does. (Bedtime here is late.. 10.. we've got night owls & nothing to get up for in the morning. LOL) He's hoping for two set evenings like that, and I say we'll discuss it when I also am getting equal "veg" time. hehe Some nights he'll play after the littles are in bed, and that I don't give two hoots about. If he wants to miss sleep for gaming, oh well. Oldtimer Posts: 12307 01/09/2009 3:43 PM Find me @ cs.yuku.com!	hmm well Chris used to also do this WAY too much, it drove me crazy. and now since Mallory jammed 2 DVDs into his playstation3 well he doesnt have thay option anymore I always tried to tell Chris not to play but it seemed the more I nagged him the more he played so I just dropped it. but before Mallory jammed the movies in there he did quit playing it so frequently maybe every few days. and now that he doesnt have that option he does spend more time with us. Also this was his outlet from coming from work and not worry about anything else, this is what he told me. I would just try and keep bringing it up and maybe he will get the hint...Chris kinda did. Although now he just vegs out in front of the TV instead sometimes, and I am quick to remind him that his daughter needs him and craves for his attention too. I mean she sees him for like 6hrs a day as to where I see her 24/7 I know how u feel just be patient and maybe he will come around

He will start playing as soon as he gets home from work until 2 or 3 am then all day on weekends. The more I talk to him about it the more defensive he gets. He tells me he can still listen to me but the minute something happens in the game he's ranting and raving that i'm distracting him. I'm just a tad frustrated Candice
