Eric Carle books are also great! I can't think of any other ones off the top of my head - basically, if I see a book, I want it! LOL!

Some of our favorites have been/ are: The "How Do Dinosaurs..." series by Jane Yolen and Marc Teague The "If You Give a..." series by Laura Numeroff Anything by Mo Willems (The Pigeon series and Knuffle Bunny/Knuffle Bunny Too are all current favorites and he's coming out with "The Naked Mole Rat Gets Dressed" in January.) We used to be HORRIBLE at Borders--the people there started commenting on how big Abby was getting, etc. We knew we had a problem at that point. We started using the library a LOT more mostly for budget reasons. My DH's parents kept all of their books and brought them when Dom was born and we buy tons of books. Finally I cannot resist going through book bins at yard sales so we always get around 50 new children's books each year during yard sale season, usually for crazy cheap too. Oldtimer Posts: 50025 12/11/2008 10:12 AM	Tigger - I went thru some phases of buying a lot when G was younger, then I didn't buy any for a while... then I was hitting up the discounted area at B&N, and then I stopped again. A few weeks ago someone was offering books on Freecycle and I volunteered to take them... there was probably over 100 Golden Books. They weren't "quality" ones, more like the 20 cent ones you get at the grocery when they are having a special, like Disney themed ones... Anyway, that made for a lot more. I have a hard time getting rid of the books though, because some of them are not in great shape but usable... but I'd hate to be embarrassed to give them away in such a condition. Gab was very good about treating books properly but Alek is a mess... he rips books still. So I haven't made too much use of the library. Plus the library isn't all that convenient... it's not near any place we go, and it's 6 miles away... and it's hard to justify driving 12 miles out of the way. B&N is right near Gymboree I stopped getting discount books in the B&N section because they would piss me off. I am really picky about books... we bought a really nice "Noah's Ark" board book with beautiful pictures... and one of the pages was like "can you find the two lions? Can you find the two elephants? Can you find the two hens?" Little mistakes like that in almost every discount book! So since I've become more discriminating, we don't buy as many. .........................................

Dh asked me a few weeks ago "don't we have enough books?" and my reply was "we could NEVER have enough books!". He decided we needed to go to the storage building and bring a bookcase to the house to keep the books in, since it is a constantly growing collection! Right now the books are just placed on shelves throughout the house!
