Is Mallory ok for a boy?
My girlfriend who is 32 weeks pg wants to name her son this. (Mallory Patrick)
She says it is a unisex name. Good for boys & girls.
But I thought Mallory was a girl name? humm. .......She says I'm crazy... Am I?

I've said it enough but it is not growing on me. Guess it doesn't have too.

I don't think it's a boy's name and would never use it for a boy.

I think there was a show in the 60's where the male character was Mallory ...or maybe the actor's real name was? Dunno- before my time... I think of it as a girls name and it reminds me of "Family Ties"

Girl name for sure. You have 8 weeks to talk her out of it.

ETA: I looked in my baby name book that was published in the 1960's and it has Mallory under the boy section. It's Latin for "luckless"

I guess 40+ years ago it was a boy name. I also found Ellery for a boy's name which sounds a lot like Mallory, but still sounds more masculine to me. Maybe you could suggest that.

Never heard of a boy named Mallory but I think it could probably pass. I mean it's not Jennifer or Loretta which are obviously girl's names, if you kwim.
