Any of your little ones not fully potty trained? Lucy will go when I ask her but not always and she goes at school.. pee only, no poop on the potty.. she is
pretty dry in the morning but when will she be fully trained? She will be 3 in July.. I ask her if she wants to wear her pull ups or her panties and she says,
no, I want to wear a diaper.

Alek will be 3 in August. Before he turned two, I had him pooping and peeing on the potty on command! But he got to be two and it wasn't fun anymore so now
he just pees... he waits for his diaper and some privacy to poop. I went thru the same thing with Gabrielle. Gab didn't fully potty train till 3 years and
5 months, but when she did, she went straight to underpants, no pullups at night ever. She's had 4 accidents since that day which conveniently for my
memory was July 4 th (our own personal independence day LOL) From age 3 to 3.5, she was day trained but waited till nighttime when I'd put a diaper on her,
she'd poop, inform me, I'd change her, she'd go to sleep and wake up dry.

Megan easily day trained pee and poop at 2 1/2 using the 3 day potty training. In the beginning, we didn't have too many night accidents. Since the 3 day
says to not use pullups or diapers and just use panties, we are having fits at night. She will not wear a pull up at night and If I put one on her once she is
asleep, she will wake up and take it off and I am still washing sheets every day. It does not matter if we stop her liquids before bed, make sure she has gone
potty before bed, anything. She just sleeps right through it.
Not to hijack your post, just saying day was easy, night has been harder for us. Megan was not interested in training, but she took to the 3day "program" very easily. Good luck! |

Mallory easily did the 3 day thing also. We occasionally put a pull up on her at night time, but ever since she started she has only wet her bed no more than 5
times since we started and that has been since Sept. She will have an accident every now and then if she keeps holding and holding but for the most part the
pee part was easy, the poop part took 3 months and she hasnt pooped in her pants since end of Dec 08. If u want the 3 day potty training I will send it to you.
The way I "hyped" up the potty thing was, we went to the store let her pick out panties which was Dora and then I got the 10 pack of Faded Glory by
walmart and my MIL had bought another 10 pairs for me. the 3 day kinda forces them to want to pee in potty, I think if you have a few days in a row you should
give it a try. day one for Mallory was pee everywhere and would not sit on potty, day two, less accidents but no sitting on potty still, day 3 less accidents
and actually peeing on potty and after she saw how proud I was of her, she peed on potty all the time, pooping like I said took 3 months. and to get the poop
thing I did a sticker chart with her. if she went 2 weeks w/o pooping in her pants she got a new toy, but if she pooped in between the 14 days, we started
over. and she understood...so we started over a lot

I haven't heard of the 3 day thing. I would love to read the book. Lucy has 1/2 day at school on a friday coming up so that might be a good time to try
it.. she has some new panties that my mom bought her but she doesn't want to wear them. Before Casey was born, she wore her Dora panties but pooped and
peed in them so I threw them away. Thanks everyone

We are pee trained (started 3/19) with the 3 day potty training. It WORKS! For the first 1.5-2w, I had to just take him every hour to pee. Now, HE tells US
when he has to go pee pee.
IDK what to tell you about poop. He's pooped on the potty 2 or 3 times, but he usually poops in his diaper before I can get to him in bed to get him up. I'm hoping he gets the hang of that soon... I try to look at it like this: They pee all the time, so you have more opportunity to get the to pee on the potty... pooping is a different story. They only go once a day or so, it just takes longer. |

We thought Seth was trained before Christmas, but around the holidays we had a few accidents. I was freaking in January when he started school, because he had
to be trained for that, and he had accidents a few times the first month of school, but I don't think we have had one since mid-February. I totally think
his being in school helps, seeing all the other little people use the potty.

Well, I maybe a very bad mom because I can't get my 4yr old to pee/poop in the potty CONSISTANTLY. She goes when she wants but we're still in pull ups.
She knows how to go and when she needs to go. Both DH and I have *tried* to work with her but she won't go unless SHE WANTS to go.
1) We've done rewards: Gummy bears, Kool-aid water. 2) We've tried putting her on the potty every hr to make her go. 3) We've talked to the doctor to see what else to do. He suggested the chart/stickers and special toy at the end. We're doing that now but it's STILL NOT making her WANT to go. We're combining the rewards above with the chart and toy at the end. She's gotten one toy and we're hoping that it would make her want to do things on a consistant basis but HELL NO!!!!!!!!!! 4) We've done panties with Disney Princesses on them. She'll pee in her pants/floor and then she'll sit in them for HOURS and continue to pee in them. Just like she does with pull ups. She doesn't care that she's sitting in her own pee/poop. Only until they are sagging off her azz will she do anything about them. We have carpet in every part of our house. So, cleaning up pee everywhere right now, is hard. I can't let her go nekkid and pee on everything. It wouldn't do any good because SHE DOESN'T GIVE A DAMN and I don't know how to get through to her. The doctor is at a loss for words. He doesn't know what to tell us. I'm pretty much done with this !+%$. I'm at my wits end and if she doesn't give a damn then I'm done too. We've done EVERYTHING and it's just not working. If she's not out of diapers by the time she's ready for Kindergarden then she's NOT going. If she's not "potty trained" by the time she's 10 then so FING BE IT!!!! Can you tell I'm done...I'm soo completely frustrated!? Anyway, I'm prolly the ONLY mother in the world that can't get through to her child about going in the damn potty. What kind of a mother does that make me???????? |

Oh Heather.. you are a great mother.. don't worry... she will get it eventually. I am sure you are frustrated.. I feel the same way.. lucy puts on her
panties.. i ask her every 15 minutes is she has to go potty and she says no.. then 2 seconds after I ask.. pee all over the place.. i am going to try the 3 day
thing.. (thanks Toni). I printed out the potty charts in color and let Lucy pick one she wanted to put on the wall and we taped it up tonight.. we will see
what happens. we have 3 days off in a row starting tomorrow

Heather, have they tested her for any kind of bladder issues? Our neighbors 4 year old is trained, but has a lot of accidents! The have diagnosed her with some
type of bladder issue and she takes medication for it.
Most kids will give you cues when they are ready. You just have to know what to look for and every kid is different. You can help them out by letting them watch you or daddy, sister, brother other child go too. I kept a potty sitting around the house and let her play with and move it around from room to room. When ever I had to go I would announce that I had to go pee pee. If she went pee pee I gave 1 M&M if she pooped she got 2. We also celebrated every success with a high five, song and dance. I took her to the store to pick out underpants and some new sippy cups and told her she could have the new sippies when she was accident free for a week. One week later, she got her cups. Maci started training herself at 19 months old and wore underpants for a month day and night! At 20 months, got sick and reverted and we put her in pull ups. For a month she would not pee in the potty, but would poop. At 21 months decided she wanted to start peeing on the toilet and would have nothing to do with a potty. She has been in underpants again ever since 22 1/2 months. No pull ups day/night/travel. We also used a lot of Elmo potty time books and DVDs. Huggies also has tips on their web site. |

Cole was 2.9 when we started and he got the pee in the potty real quick (a few days) but pooped in his underwear for months. He's on glycolax for
constapation so that really set us back but he's fully trained now day and night poop and pee, had been since probably a tad after Christmas! Nightime was
never an issue for him he'd always wake (and still does) if he has to go.
I've attempted a few times with Ella but she was refusing so we stopped. At "school" she'll sit on the potty for them and wants to after a bath at home but I haven't tried again yet. She's a stubborn one so I'm gonna wait for her to want it - then it will go quickly I know it. Good luck - it took a while and pounds of M&M's with Cole! |

We aren't trained here either. Nolen goes pee on the potty if I put him on but he doesn't really ask to go.

Connor turned 3 in Feb. and he isn't trained yet either. He will do once in a while but still using
pull ups. I know he can do it, so I know I need to start pushing it more. What seems to work to get him to go is popcorn. He could care less about candy, hates chocolate so m&m's won't work...cares less about stickers, but tell him he will get popcorn and he will go. lol My silly Monkey boy!

Natalie was about 2 years 9mo. and she told me one wknd that she did not want to wear diapers anymore. I had tried everything--m&m's, sticker charts,
trying to make her go every hour--but she just was not doing it. So I gave up for a couple of weeks--didn't say a word about going potty, but let her do it
if she wanted. And then out of the blue she decided.
Poop was much harder. She only pooped about twice a week, and she would hold it, making it that much worse. She would ask for a diaper and poop in it in the bathroom. Our dr. said that she needed to poop nearly every day so it became a "non-event" and told us to give her miralax to make her more regular. We also promised her Disness princess dolls (the little ones) if she pooped on the potty. After 2 weeks, she was pooped trained at home; took another 2 weeks before she would do it at daycare--so poop took us 4 months longer. Now, she only wears a pullup at night, and more than half the time she wakes up dry. Woo-hoo!!! |

We did the 3 day potty trainging thing too and I am SHOCKED that it worked. Izzie is very stubborn and she would scream and cry if I tried to have her sit on
the potty before this. She "got" it in 24 hours. Started peeing on the potty on day 2, by day three we only had one accident and NEVER had a poop
accident. It has now been 2 weeks and we have only had 1 accident since we finished the "3 days". If you have 3 days to spare and be at home I HIGHLY
reccommend it!
Heather I'm sorry you are so frustrated! That sounds miserable. I hope it works out soon!! |

Jonah is not potty trained, he will be three in July. He will pee/poop on the potty ONLY if he has nothing on his bottom. He knows when he has to go, too.
But if he has underpants on, he will pee in them or if he has a diaper on he won't even say anything or he'll say "I have poop!" Am I
supposed to leave him with nothing on? I don't know how to move on from here...

UPDATE now...
We are trying PT here again. He gets candy for peeing on the potty, a light pop on the butt for peeing in his underpants (this is because he was laughing about peeing on the couch, I needed to up the ante to show him I was not kidding; I know it's no longer normal to swat a bottom during potty training but truly, any disgust I show over his behvior he thinks is hilarious and he will repeat it just to see me react - except he does not like the swat too much), nothing (positive or negative) for peeing in a diaper...if I put a diaper on, it's for traveling and nap/bed... so peeing/pooping in it is allowed. It probably sounds confusing, but it is not - he knows the rules... today he stayed dry for an hour sitting in his high chair, I let him out and told him to run and pee in the potty since he was dry. He went to the bathroom and got distracted playing with soap and toothpaste and peed in his underpants!!! Grrr. If I tell him not to pee in the car (he overflows the diaper and makes his clothes wet) he holds it... I KNOW he has daily bladder control (maybe not night time) He will get a new movie if he poops on the potty. (He used to poop on the potty!!!! I am hoping to have him PT'd by G's summer vacation so it will make going places easier.
