Around 9:30pm Wednesday night, I noticed that my contractions were getting closer together but not really changing in intensity. I decided to just go into the
hospital ~ why not. So my parents came over to stay with the kids ~ I'm all but certain we'll be right back since these types of contractions have been
going on for nearly 2 weeks. We get there and I'm at a 3, 85% effaced. I walk for 45 minutes and dilated another cm. My contractions are 6 minutes apart,
then 2...not strong at all, all over the place. My dr. decides to admit me anyway and he was thinking he'd just break my water when he came in the morning
at 6:30 to get things started. Then, ALL OF A SUDDEN, BAM, my contractions start getting super painful but they're still all over...every 5 minutes, every
minute... The nurse checks me and I'm at a 5, 100% effaced, and baby's at a 0 station. She calls the dr. to come in. When she gets back she checks me
again and I'm at a 9 and I HAVE TO PUSH. She is literally holding the baby in without gloves on, asking for an ER doctor. On the next contraction, I tell
her there's no way this baby's staying in and push her out with the unbroken bag of waters. My dr. arrives about 3 minutes after the birth. So, no time
for pain meds again...no Nubain, no nothin! It was basically a 45 minute labor and if I would have waited until those painful contractions started, got stuff
into the car, and waited for my parents, DH would have delivered her on the side of the road. Luckily, the nurse got the pleasure of doing that
.
