Quick Version
At 11:52 PM, my water broke. I decided to take my time getting to the hospital since I was only 1.5 cm dilated at the doctor visit the day
before. I decided to take a shower, blow out my hair and put some make-up on (how shallow). My husband, DS and I got to the hospital at 12:45 AM and I was
admitted quickly. I was sent up to Labor and Delivery where I was checked again and was still 1.5 cm dilated. The doctor explained to us that it would be a
long night since I was still the same and had very light contractions. I decided to tell my husband to take my son home since they both had a sinus infection
and had a slight temperature. My sister would be up to pick up my son the next day since she lives two hours away and there was no need for her to rush up (at
least we thought).
At 9:00, my doctor came in and said that I would start the pitocin. The doctor gave my the lowest possible level which was a one. This would just begin the
contractions and help to progress quicker. At 9:46 AM, they called my husband to start on his way to the hospital since my contractions were beginning and at
9:55 AM, I delivered. My husband got the news of my delivery on the way to the hospital...he was devastated and upset. He could not believe that he was not
present! The good news was that I did not need an epidural or stitches. Everything happened so fast that I didn't have time to even request one. I did
have horrible back labor! But I was just happy that I made it through it! I was the talk of L&D for the next two days and a class of nurses came in to
congratulate me! No one could believe I progressed as quickly as I did. The sad part is that I have no pictures or video of my delivery. It just happened so
quickly that I didn't even think of it.
My son was tested for GD and everything came back great...so no concerns there! Here is a quick picture of Landon:
