monitor and got my IV started and my antibiotic started. She checked me and I was still 3 cm and about 60 percent effaced. She got the pitocin started and I
started having regular contractions . (I was having some contractions on my own but not strong at all). At 11:30, my doc came in and broke my water and then
the contractions got real! I was still only 3 cm and very dissappointed with that. I was hoping for a tiny bit of progress. About 12:30, I decided that an
epidural sounded good. I was tolerating the contractions but I knew I could not hold out for a few more hours. A little while later, my wonderful
anesthesiologist came in and I got a wonderful epidural (my Epi with Megan never worked). About 2:30, my nurse came in to tell me they were sending her home
and I was very disappointed (with Megan, they took away my good nurse and I wound up with evil nurse that my family hated). So I had asked nurse Jennifer not
to leave me when we first arrived and knew I liked her. Anyway, she went on a heartbeat search because Allison had moved and picked her heartbeat up really
low. I was feeling nothing, no contraction pain and not even any pressure. Nurse Jenifer checked me and I was complete and very low! I got one practice push to
see if I could do it and was quickly told not to push again. I waited about 45 minutes for my doc to come and I was laughing and talking the whole time. Since
I was so close to delivering, they let Jennifer stay and we thought she would end up delivering Allison herself!! so my doc finally showed up and got dressed.
Three pushed later we welcomed Allison Mackenzie into the world. It was amazing and such a different experience this time. I had a small tear and got a few
stitches while they cleaned Allison up. She nursed right away and is a breastfeeding champ! I feel great and she is actually sleeping decently compared to her
sister at that age. I am so on love with her and so is her big sister. Megan loves her but thankfully is not all over her. DH is absolutely wonderful with her.
I think he actually feels confident about handling a newborn this time. I wish time would slow down already. I will post pics once I get dh to fix my computer.
I can't wait to show her off.
