Hmmm... I guess all kids are different. It is hard for me to compare my three kids, but so far I think my first child was the best talker from an earlier age. My second hardly said any words at all until she hit 2 years old, and even now (at almost 3 years old) she seems to say fewer understandable words than my son did at that age. And even compared to other children her age, I think she has a smaller vocabulary. The baby is almost 17 months old and knows several words... I think she'll be an earlier talker than my second one. They are all just so different, you know? I would wait until your son is 2 years old before you worry too much. Check with the pediatrition to find out what is a normal range of words at that age and just keep track of it. I was worried about my second child, but when I actually sat down and wrote all the words she could say it came to about the normal range, so I stopped worrying.
