Well, Saturday we took Nick to the doctors and this was 3rd visit in two months. All three times double ear infection. I guess I knew eventually he would need
them but I'm still a little scared. His surgery is scheduled for Dec. 8, one day before his 4th birthday. His party is the Sunday after and the doctor said
he can go to pre-school the day after getting them. Hope it is as quick and painless as they make it sound. Thanks for any prayers you can spare.

Brenda! It is such a common operation, I am sure he will do just fine!

Hugs! I know it is scary. I still cried at the hospital when they took her away but, it was so quick. She was discombobulated afterwards but,
acted totaly normal that evening. She even went to daycare the next day. The thing the doctor never warned me about, though, is that after the tubes he may
have drainage every now andthen. Lily gets a "goopy ear" (as we call it, always her Right) about once a month. Sometimes it clears up on it's own
but, sometimes we have to start some antibiotic drops and that clears it up w/in a couple days. After this happened the first time post tubes, I called her ENT
and talked to a nurse who told me this is just normal and will happen occasionally. Instead of getting a full blown EI w/ a fever, loss of sleep, etc., etc she
will just get some goopy ear drainage for a couple of days. I am so glad we went ahead with the tubes. 
I think they are 2.00 something per pack and they come w/ maybe 6 pairs. Each pair can be worn a few times. They
told me we could do cotton dipped in vaseline but that sounded too messy to me.
