On nights we take a bath we go potty, bath, brush teeth, pjs, books then bed. We do the same thing other nights just no bath. We usually start around 7pm.
Sometimes a little earlier or later depending on whether or not he has napped that day or if he has school the next day.

Do you have to lay down with him at all or do you leave him to fall asleep on his own?

We have always been able to leave him to fall asleep on his own even as a baby. Lately we give him 5 or so min. with the light on and he reads by himself. I
will say that the nights where he has NOT taken a nap that day he falls right to sleep.
He still naps some days in school and on those nights he has a really hard time falling asleep on those nights he is a little more needy - he will need a drink, then has to pee, then needs help, then wants his back rubbed and sometimes we end up laying with him for a little while. |

Audrey & Emmy go to bed around 6:30. After dinner, bath, teeth brushing, etc. dh and I bring them upstairs. They share a bedroom. We each sing 3 songs
to them (dh sings to Audrey and I sing to Emmy and then we switch or vice versa) with the lights off and then we leave. We do our stories downstairs on the
couch before coming upstairs, so the light isn't turned on in their bedroom. We just do songs in the dark.

We do supper & play for a while after cleaning up kitchen/toys. Bath is usually around 7:15 (sometimes earlier or later, depending on mood & length of
nap) & we get dressed/etc & read or sing for a few minutes, then put him to sleep. We have the lamp on while getting settled, then it's dark in
there. Some nights we hear nothing out of him, & other nights, he's been known to talk to himself for nearly an hour. He's usually asleep around
8pm (or if no nap, more like 7-7:30).

Hailey in bed by 9pm. I get done work at 630pm, dinner by 7ish then depending on time we play for a little bit, then bath, a little time in our bed with us
relaxing and watching tv, potty, brush teeth, a book and a few songs in her room. We lay her down and she is awake and she goes to sleep on her own. We do not
have to lay down with her, we have a recliner in her room that we read to her in. We lay her in bed after reading and sing to her. She just recently told us
that she does not want the night light on anymore so She has her noise machine on and that is it.

We do baths every other night, around 7. Then they get to watch 40-30 minutes of Nick Jr. After that it's bed time - go to the potty and we 3 snuggle up
on Cole's bed (full size) and read a book or maybe 2, depending how tired they are. Put her in her bed, lights out. Ella will sometimes gab for a little
while, Cole I have to give him one last drink of water, rub his back, more hugs and then usually I make it downstairs by 8:30. He'll get tangled up in
covers tossing and turning sometimes and I'll have to go up and get him situated but usually it's that easy (knock wood). They get up about 7:30.

We start getting them ready at 6:30, PJs, brush teeth etc. Then they get one or two stories each, we turn on some music for them and there in bed by 7pm. We
don't lay down with them, they fall asleep on their own. Cooper takes forEVER to fall asleep, he looks at books, pushes cars around in his bed, etc. Cole
passes out in about 2 seconds and Rylan is usually asleep in about 15 minutes.

Grace usualy goes around 8:30pm. I'd like her to go earlier but with 3 older siblings, she thinks she is missing out on something! Since taking her paci
away, she passes out the second her head hits the pillow. She has been known to just take herself to bed and you'll find her curled up in bed asleep!

The girls eat at 6pm, then we take a bath, brush teeth, give Juliette a bottle at 7pm while the other girls are reading in bed. Read a story to all of them and
they all are asleep at the latest by 7h30pm. I have no problem taking them in our bed when they are ill but it is not a habit. And luckily, Charlotte who
always needs to go to the toilet during the night, is not waking us up to tell us so anymore.....

Denise, I am with you on the bad habits. We have to lay with Megan to get her to go to sleep, always have. Unfortunately, Allison is giving us pure hell about bedtime, too. I nurse her to sleep and that is the only way she will settle for me....
