3 day potty trainers?? |

did you go cold turkey on diapers at night and nap time?? I did the potty training this last week and he is doing so well we have had a few poop accidents but
he has the pee pee down, but did you guys really let them go at night without a diaper from the very beginning?? He has done the nap but I am to lazy to
change sheets in the morning so I have still been putting a diaper on him at night but I have to wait until he falls asleep and go back and put it on him
because he refuses to wear anything but underwear...

Nope, we tried it a few times, but he peed in the bed during the night each time. He still wakes up pretty wet most mornings, so I don't think he's
ready quite yet.
He's been pee trained since 25m & poop for about 4-5m... very little accidents. I also have tried no pullup at nap, but the days I put him in underwear, he has an accident. Then there are the days when a pullup is dry/clean & we re-use it 3 or 4x. |

we are on day 6 of underwear and so far so good, only an occasional poop accident...
It will be a while before we can go diaperless at night!

Isabella wears a pull-up for nap and bed. She usually wakes up from her nap dry but she is always soaked in the morning.

We didn't do underwear at nap and bedtime either. I didn't want to be changing sheets all the time! She did great, was fully day trained and never had
a problem about wearing diapers for naps or bedtime. After about a month she started waking up from naps dry so we switched to underwear, and a few months
after that she started waking up dry in the morning so we switched to underwear then and never really had an accident.

We used Potty Training Power. I loved it and the creators were very supportive of me the first day when I wanted to quit and cry! By day 3 we were almost
accident free...poop takes longer to get control of and we have issues from time to time but getting them on a schedule works wonders!

Hey Laura!!! I didn't do the 3-day potty training thing - I was just very lucky with daytime potty; Willow was pooping in the potty consistently by about 18 months and was in panties without accidents all day by about a month or two after she turned 2. I can take NO credit - I never tried to "potty train" her. BUT I can tell you what I did with nap/night "training." I never pushed that either - I know that a lot of kids just can't wake up for that, and I had no desire to be changing sheets in the middle of the night or morning. So I always put her in a pull-up to sleep. And she was almost aways wet after sleeping all night - rarely wet after naps. Suddenly, in November, she started waking up dry every morning. After almost a month, I mentioned to her that maybe she wouldn't need pull-ups much longer. In December, she decided that she would no longer be wearing pull-ups to bed. She has never worn one again; so far, we have not had any accidents.
I realize that I have been beyond lucky on this one. But I truly think that, with sleeping, it is best not to try to "train." Eventually, he will stop wetting at night, and then you will know he is ready. If he doesn't want to wear a diaper, can you get him to wear a night-time pull-up with characters he likes? What the heck??? You have done this twice before. You don't need advice from me! |
