Tags : None Remove this ad at my doc appointment my blood pressure was high..they told me to get to the hospital as soon as i could...so that was about 2-3 hours later (kids, husband...gotta wait for sitters, etc anyway, when we got there it was fine...right where it should be. i was there for four hours being monitored..waiting on blood tests, pee tests...not fun stuff..very boring! when they said my pressure was high at the docs (taken twice by two different nurses) i felt fine...so my question..how do i know when it's up? oh and for some reason i've gained 9lbs in two weeks...whcih i don't know if i believe...something just isnt' right with that. i'm NOT swollen at all...even the docs aren't saying i am. anyway, i'm trying to take it easy from here on out...but it's pretty impossible with two other kids here.....today i'm 34 weeks 2 days ...she needs to stay in for awhile longer! and i'm also 1cm and 50% effaced. Angels lost: m/c 8-22-03 m/c 10-3-03 m/c 3-25-04 trisomy 17 d&c-baby girl *Drew was born: (c-section)* 2-12-05 Brady was born: (VBAC) 2-20-08 Abby was born: (VBAC) 3-22-10 We nursed for 28 months and 9 days...what a WONDERFUL time! We nursed for 17 months and 3 days...what a WONDERFUL time!

I don't think I've ever had it (although it runs in my mother's family, so I'm sure i'll have it one of these days) so I don't know if you would feel different or not. I was so sluggish and exhausted all the time towards the end and I finally got dragged tothe hospital by my mom and they did all the bloodwork and pee tests and poke tests and found out i was pre-eclampsia (toxemia) so i was induced....i looked like a water balloon! I was so swollen that my socks put dents in my legs.... Bllod pressure could also be affected by stress and normal life (kids!)LOL If you can, and i know how hard it is, just try to relax as much as possible...let DH do some work Ainslee 8 Riley 14 months Averee 4

I'm wondering if it was a equipment thing since it was fine at the hospital (you'd think stressing about getting sitters, getting to the hospital, etc would make it go higher not lower). But, sudden weight gain is a symptom of pregnancy induced hypertension, so it may be something to keep an eye on especially if you notice any swelling (the swelling may be there but not noticeable yet). Aside from that, headaches, seeing spots or blurred vision, decreased urine output, dizziness and nausea all can be signs. Remove this ad they were probably different cuffs at the docs office...but i'm not certain. i had so many people looking for swelling...and nothing...my hands aren't even swollen ...and no, never had any problems with blood pressure while pregnant with my other two. the only thing different this time around is how tired i am....second trimester wasn't as bad..but the first and third are kicking my butt! Oldtimer Posts: 1476 02/17/2010 9:38 AM	I've had pre-eclampsia with both my kids. My midwife put me on a Magnesium/Calcium supplement this pregnancy to try and and help prevent it this time. I started getting it around 35 weeks with DS and 37 weeks with DD. My head would throb like I was bending upside down. I was swelled quite a bit. I gained 11 pounds in 2 weeks. That was all with DS. I had no symptoms of it with DD and they did exactly what they did with you. Took it twice at the office and then sent me to the hospital. Since I was already 37-38 weeks they went ahead and induced me. Please take it easy. This stuff is nothing to mess around with. DH 31 Me 31 DS 7 DD 5 DS born 8-25-10

Remove this ad it was back up again today when i went back to the docs (was there yesterday too) ..it wasn't as high as it's been..but still high.. on the ultrasound she looks good ..even on the monitors...so that's really good! she's weighing around 5lbs 6oz ..which is alot smaller than my boys ever were...but she's good fluid is good...cervix is short ...i'm already dialted and effaced...and i kinda wish tehy would of checked me today...but my next appointment is on tuesday. ..if not sooner!
