This happened (sort of) with Emerson, too. She was scared to go poop in the potty for a few weeks - would start to cry and ask for a diaper when she felt she needed to go. What finally worked for us was just after I put on her diaper to poop, I held her and walked calmly into the bathroom. I held her while she pooped (in her diaper) then took off the diaper and quickly dumped the contents into her little potty. Then I made a HUGE deal out of it - hugging her, clapping, calling daddy and Audrey into the bathroom to see that Emmy had "pooped in the potty". She got caught up int he whirlwind and started clapping, too and felt proud of herself for going. The next time she asked for a diaper, I reminded her that she now poops in potty like a big girl. I brought her into the bathroom and walked her through the steps of what we had done that morning - "you pooped in here" "mommy and daddy were so happy" "everyone clapped" "you got to help dump and flush" "we called Mema and Pop" and for some reason that did the trick!! I hope you find something that works for you!! Every kiddo is so different. Audrey was potty trained in less than one day and Emmy took months.
