born on 3-22-10 at 3:54am 6lbs 13oz 19.5 inches long (39 weeks 1 day)
contractions started timing them around 10:20pm..and they were every 10, 9, 8 then 7 min..that's when i called and was told to come in. they started hurting ..but nothing i couldn't get through ..the nurses were amazed at how calm i was
we got to the hospital around 12:15-12:30am ..took us 10 min dh was hauling butt!
was checked and was at 7cm and 100% effaced...that internal didn't even hurt! so then they moved me to labor/delivery room and gave me the epi (there was no way i was brave enough to not do it) so once that was done my water had broken on it's own...they checked me ..i was complete! the epi wasn't working on the right side..just a tiny spot down low...but omg, it hurt ..bad! took a long time to kick in! and thank god it did!!!!
so i started pushing at 2:50am and had her at 3:54am ...there was a moment i was thinking i couldn't get her down and that i'd end up with a csection..terrified me! then all of a sudden i had a really good set of three pushes..not sure how i couldn't feel myself pushing at all ..and that's what scared me...but once she came past that pelvic bone i was having more luck.
so she came out sunny side up/facing up...not down like they are supposed too..and apparently that's alot harder to push out ...plus her cord was around her neck..which would explain why she wasn't liking the pushing. but she's ok..and so am i
i had an epistomy 2nd degree ...hurts..but not as bad as it could be ..of course i'm terrified to poop
these afterpains OUCH!!!!!!!!! sometimes worse then the contractions...horrible, horrible!
she's nursing ..at first she latched awesome..but then today she was giving me some issues..but last time she did good. she did poop and i got the chance to change it ..but then started choking ..scary stuff..thank god the nurse came in at that time!!! they took her to the nursery to check her out ...she had mucous in her lungs i guess from not being born facing down.
i'm not too happy with this hospital ..i delivered both my kids somewhere else (my docs changed practices ..so i followed them this one ...i liked labor/delivery ..but this postpartum area..not happy! i haven't slept very well at all..and actually just had an hour or so nap ..till they woke me up coming in and doing stuff...but last night..didn't sleep at all..so i went more than 24 hours without any sleep..not fun
i can't get on photobucket or fb from here..so hopefully if i go home tomorrow (depends on docs) then i can get some uploaded she looks alot like drew!
