When I was in Nursing school I took care of a special needs baby with this exact problem; while it was very challenging to say the least; it was also very rewarding. The link below gives some strategies & tells you what we may be facing.
I have a lot of questions about the particulars of this this situation. I'll call Monday for answers & to decide IF we proceed. But we remain excited about the possibility- It's a HUGE decision. Please say a prayer we make the right choice. Bmom is 36 weeks along & due to the special circumstances not a lot of Acouples may be interested in this newborn. She hasn't picked us yet. But I'm thinking there may not be any Acouples interested due to the complexity of the situation. The baby I'm guessing will be placed w/ CYS if bmom doesn't make an Adoptive choice. She wants to choose & is emphatic about making this choice.

UPDATE:
We are going to go for it!! AFter A lot of talking, researching, we decided to say YES!
We have a 33.3333% chance of being picked. Our Agency will meet w/ bmom this week & get more nfo.
Then call us or we'll call her! Maybe she'll pick us.
We'll see.
