I have Anna down to nursing just to go to sleep at night. She does ask for it more often than that, but instead I give her a sippy cup and a snack. Most of the time the sippy and snack is all she needs. At naptime I sometimes have to give her a bottle of bm (using up my freezer stash), and often she is happy with that.
I am ready to be done nursing now, so last night I "cut her off" and didn't nurse her. I gave her a bottle, and he put her hand down my shirt and just "held on" to my breast (that's her "thing" lately - to have her hand down my shirt fondling me). I hope if we stick with it, she'll be weaned completely in a few weeks.
I'm happy that we made it as long as we have, actually, I'm amazed that I made it past a month of nursing her, and here we are at 16 months!
I hope it doesn't take long for her to stop fussing about wanting to nurse though. I feel bad not letting her nurse, but honestly, I think it is time for her to be off the breast. If it were up to her, she'd still be on it non-stop all day long.
