...doing the vaccines? I see some people say they don't do them all at once, what have you done?

I may not be the right one to ask but I just do what the doc suggests. Hopefully someone else has some thoughts.

DJ has until the week of the 6th before we have to get this done so I have to get on the ball soon enough to figure out how I am going to do them. They gave me a paper that shows that he is to get like 5-6 injections at the two month milestone, I just think that is a lot of pain to put him in. I am just 100% mush, I have to toughen up a bit but I still don't think I will be able to let them do so many at one sitting. I like the idea of spacing them out and giving his little body time to heal from each course.

5-6 at once? They must be a combo. If not, I wouldnt give him that many at once but you and Dave have to decide whats best.

Hi Momma,
Maybe it isnt at once but they showed me a list of 5-6 that are due at the two month mark. I will continue to research this and see what the best option is for DJ. Sandie Sandie (33) Dave (40) To our Angels - We love and miss you but we know that you are with God right now helping Him.

Usually there are combo shots that take care of several of the vaccinnes with one shot. So, the baby will get 2 -3 actual shots in the leg. I think every child is different how they react to the pain and the shots. I just give my little ones a small dose of baby Tylenol (check with your doc to see if that's okay) and they seem to get over the pain pretty quickly. Usually they just cry for 30 seconds and they've already forgotten about it! It's the older kids who pitch the bigger fits!
I have to drag my 5 year old kicking and screaming into the doctor's office usually. For one of my kids, she got a knot in her leg where one of the shots were given. It took several days (maybe even a week or so?) before it went away. But there was no other side effects for her. And it was only one time, not every time she got a shot. Anyways... whatever you decide to do - good luck! It is always hard to watch the little babies get stuck with needles. Eeeeck! Erin |
