Oldtimer Posts: 2119 08/30/2010 9:25 PM Member	Tags : None Remove this ad Well - it's been kind of rocky the last couple of days with Liam. He has lost about 15% of his body weight. So, they are making me supplement with formula. Plus, his jaundice went up to a 17.75 and we were almost admitted to the hospital but they were able to find a company that had a bilirubin blanket that was brought to our house. He has been on the blanket since Friday. His level today is a 15.50, which is lower. Whenever I try to feed him the formula, he spits it up - so, it's not really doing any good in my opinion. We are heading back to the dr's again tomorrow morning, hopefully, his weight is up some or they will admit him to the hospital to try and figure out what is going on with him... So, that is my story... I'll update when we find out more... Hope everyone is enjoying their bundles of joy! Oldtimer Posts: 2119 09/02/2010 2:18 PM Member	Hey girls! Sorry for the delay! It's been so busy and crazy around here! Everything seems to be better as of yesterday - his jaundice levels went down to a 11.2. He's not really gaining weight but he is maintaining his weight which the dr's are happy about. I am having a hard time just giving him a bottle of formula. Normally, what I have been doing is nursing him, then if he seems like he is still hungary, I'll give him some formula. He will only take like 1/2 - 3/4 oz. of it. SO, it's not a lot. If I'm out of time or if I let DH feed him, then I'll give him a bottle of formula. Today, he only took 2 1/2 oz. of it. We are off of the bilirubin blanket and we go back to the dr. next Wed. Hopefully, he will of gained a little weight by then. My neighbor has a baby weight scale that she is letting us use so I'm able to weigh him everyday. If his levels decrease or don't go up soon, I'll definitely be calling the dr. before next Wed. Oldtimer Posts: 1476 09/04/2010 2:31 PM	I really hope Liam starts gaining soon. Dylan had a little jaundice in the hospital as well, but they said once my milk came in and he started pooping a lot more, it would clear up. They made us supplement in the hosp as well to try and get him to poop more. I guess that's the only way the jaundice would come out. I'm sure you're stressed, but as long as he's not losing weight, he should be fine. Good luck at the doc this week. DH 31 Me 31 DS 7 DD 5 DS born 8-25-10
